Locum Finda

Nigeria · runs entirely on WhatsApp

Need cover tonight?
Or need the shift?

Locum Finda is a WhatsApp number that matches Nigerian doctors with short-term locum shifts. Describe what you need in one message. No app, no sign-up, no forms.

The number goes live shortly — these buttons will open a chat with it.

This is the whole product

Not a screenshot of an app you have to learn. An actual conversation — this is exactly what the replies look like.

  1. Send one message

No app to install, no account, no form. Write the way you would to a colleague: “need a locum for night duty Friday, 2.5k an hour”.

  2. It reads the shift

The role, the place, the hours and the money come out as a proper listing — with the total pay worked out, because ₦30,000 for the night is the number that decides it.

  3. Doctors nearby hear about it

It goes to subscribed doctors in that state. Anyone interested gets your number, or reaches you through the bot if you would rather stay anonymous.

What it won’t pretend to do

A locum board is only useful if you can trust the listings, and the fastest way to lose that is to overstate what has been checked. So, plainly:

  • It can’t verify a shift

Nobody has confirmed the hospital, the rate, or that the money will arrive. Treat a listing as a lead, not a contract.

  • It keeps the board current

Posters get asked whether a shift is still open. Anything reported as already filled comes down, and listings expire after three days.

  • It holds very little about you

Your number, your name, your specialty and your state. Send *stop* and the alerts end immediately.

Questions

Do I need to download anything?

No. Locum Finda is a WhatsApp number. Message it and you are in — your number is the account.

What does it cost?

Nothing to post a shift or to browse them. You pay WhatsApp data charges and nothing else.

Will my phone number be public?

Only if you want it to be. When you post a shift it asks whether your number goes out with it — saying yes fills shifts faster because doctors can call you straight away, and saying no keeps you anonymous while the bot passes on anyone interested.

Does it check that a shift is real?

No, and it will tell you so. It cannot verify a hospital, a rate, or that the money will arrive. What it does is keep the board honest: it asks posters whether a shift is still open, takes down anything reported as already filled, and expires listings after three days.

Why do alerts sometimes stop?

WhatsApp only lets a business message you out of the blue within 24 hours of you writing to it. If you have been quiet for longer you get a short alert instead of the full shift — reply with anything, even “hi”, and everything flows normally again.

How do I stop the messages?

Send *stop* or *unsubscribe*. That is the whole process, and it takes effect immediately.

A shift gets covered in the time it takes to type it.
